Kats, Pays-Bas - 11 avril 2025. <\/b><\/span>The Kingfish Company N.V. (la \"soci\u00e9t\u00e9\" ; \"Kingfish\" ; OSE : KING), pionnier et leader de la production durable de limande \u00e0 queue jaune \u00e0 terre, a le plaisir d'annoncer une victoire judiciaire dans le Maine, confirmant les permis de l'\u00c9tat pour le site Kingfish Maine.\u00a0 <\/span>La Cour supr\u00eame judiciaire de l'\u00c9tat a rejet\u00e9 le dernier recours d\u00e9pos\u00e9 par les opposants \u00e0 l'obtention par Kingfish Maine d'un permis d'\u00c9tat combin\u00e9 au titre de la loi sur la localisation du d\u00e9veloppement (SLODA) et de la loi sur la protection des ressources naturelles (NRPA).<\/p>\n

Le permis pour l'installation du Maine a \u00e9t\u00e9 initialement d\u00e9livr\u00e9 par le minist\u00e8re de la protection de l'environnement du Maine en 2021.\u00a0 <\/span>Les groupes d'opposants ont fait appel de la d\u00e9cision d'autorisation \u00e0 deux reprises, aupr\u00e8s du conseil de protection de l'environnement du Maine, puis aupr\u00e8s de la cour sup\u00e9rieure du Maine. Les deux appels ont \u00e9t\u00e9 rejet\u00e9s.<\/p>\n

Dans cette derni\u00e8re d\u00e9cision de justice, la Cour supr\u00eame judiciaire du Maine a rejet\u00e9 l'appel de l'opposant contre la d\u00e9cision de la Cour sup\u00e9rieure du Maine, confirmant la d\u00e9cision initiale du Bureau de la protection de l'environnement du Maine. Kingfish Maine conserve toutes les autorisations requises au niveau local, \u00e9tatique et f\u00e9d\u00e9ral.<\/p>\n

\"Il s'agit d'une bataille de plusieurs ann\u00e9es avec un petit groupe d'opposants qui ont travaill\u00e9 pour arr\u00eater notre projet\", a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Vincent Erenst, PDG de Kingfish Company. \"En raison de cette opposition, notre projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 retard\u00e9 de pr\u00e8s de quatre ans.<\/p>\n

Le projet a \u00e9t\u00e9 pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 pour la premi\u00e8re fois \u00e0 la communaut\u00e9 de Jonesport en 2019 et la proc\u00e9dure d'autorisation a \u00e9t\u00e9 achev\u00e9e pendant la pand\u00e9mie. Les opposants ont d\u00e9pos\u00e9 de multiples recours contre les permis d\u00e9livr\u00e9s par l'\u00c9tat et le conseil d'urbanisme local pendant trois ans, ce qui a consid\u00e9rablement retard\u00e9 le processus de conception et de construction.<\/p>\n

\"Notre calendrier de construction pour l'installation de Jonesport a malheureusement \u00e9t\u00e9 consid\u00e9rablement retard\u00e9 de plusieurs ann\u00e9es en raison des multiples recours d\u00e9pos\u00e9s par les opposants. Maintenant que les recours sont derri\u00e8re nous, le calendrier du projet sera d\u00e9termin\u00e9 par les conditions \u00e9conomiques et financi\u00e8res actuelles, que nous sommes en train d'\u00e9valuer \u00e0 l'heure actuelle\".<\/p>\n

\"C'est une victoire pour le Maine et les \u00c9tats-Unis en ce qui concerne la production de fruits de mer\", a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 M. Erenst.<\/p>\n

\"Actuellement, les \u00c9tats-Unis importent plus de 85% de tous les produits de la mer. L'installation de The Kingfish Company dans le Maine permettra de rem\u00e9dier \u00e0 la d\u00e9pendance des \u00c9tats-Unis \u00e0 l'\u00e9gard des importations de sources alimentaires riches en prot\u00e9ines.
